Miss Jean
Miss Jean teaches foundational swim skills with a strong focus on safety, confidence, and independence. Students learn essential techniques like entering the water safely, returning to the wall, and building comfort with backstroke, which she considers the cornerstone of water safety.
She understands that learning to swim can be challenging, especially when it comes to back floating and trusting the water. Each student is guided with patience and care, meeting them where they are and helping them progress in their own way.
With years of experience, Miss Jean has not only taught countless swimmers, but also mentors other instructors who share her passion for teaching and lifelong swimming.
She is grateful every day to do what she loves.
Jane
Jane is an American Red Cross certified swim instructor and certified lifeguard with over seven years of experience teaching swimmers of all ages, from infants to adults, including individuals with special needs.
Her lessons focus on water safety, skill development, and helping students feel comfortable and confident in the water. She adapts her teaching to each individual, meeting students where they are and supporting their progress at every stage.
Jane finds great joy in watching her students grow and gain confidence in their abilities, both in and out of the water.
Outside of teaching, she enjoys swimming, biking, running, hiking, birding, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her dog.
Miss Nancy
Miss Nancy is a lifelong swimmer who began swimming competitively at a young age in San Anselmo. Her love for the water has continued throughout her life, both for fitness and relaxation.
Over the past five years, she has taught group and private lessons at the Marin Jewish Community Center, working with swimmers of all ages. She also teaches privately within the community, helping new families build confidence and connection in the water.
Her teaching focuses on building strong, well-rounded swimmers through a progression of floating, gliding, kicking, and arm movement, with each skill thoughtfully connected.
As a mother of four and grandmother of five, Miss Nancy brings warmth, patience, and life experience to every lesson. She is passionate about helping students develop a lifelong love of the water.
Outside of teaching, she enjoys hiking with her dog, playing tennis, and cooking healthy meals.
Miss Monica
Monica is an experienced swim instructor and American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard. She has been teaching swim lessons since the age of 11 and began working professionally with the City and County of San Francisco at 17.
She recently earned her Master’s degree in Marine Science and has a lifelong passion for the water. Monica also swam competitively throughout high school and college.
Her lessons focus on water safety, skill development, and creating a fun, supportive environment where swimmers can build confidence and progress at their own pace.
Monica looks forward to helping each student grow and feel comfortable in the water.
Miss Amy
Miss Amy has been working with babies and young children since the age of 11. As a mother of four and a grandmother, she brings both experience and genuine care to every lesson.
She is an American Red Cross certified Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor and previously ran her own swim program for five years at the Petaluma Golf and Country Club, where she taught countless children how to swim.
Amy has a lifelong love of the water and continues to swim regularly for fitness. She is passionate about helping young swimmers become confident, capable, and comfortable in the water.
She is grateful for the opportunity to work with families and finds joy in helping children develop a lifelong love of swimming.
Miss Mary
Miss Mary has spent her entire career in the aquatic field, teaching swimmers of all ages from infants to adults. She specializes in working with young children, helping ages 3 to 5 build confidence, overcome fears, and develop a love for the water.
She recently retired from teaching Physical Education in the Marin public school system, bringing years of experience and a strong foundation in child development to her swim instruction.
Mary is a certified Lifeguard and holds certifications in CPR and First Aid. She is passionate about guiding each swimmer’s growth and takes great pride in watching students gain confidence and truly enjoy being in the water.
Miss Bre
Breany, who also goes by Bre, is a graduate of the University of California, Merced, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Management and Business Economics with a minor in Political Science.
She has had a lifelong connection to the water, beginning at age 5 and continuing through competitive swimming with a local aquatics club and her high school team at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory.
Bre discovered her passion for teaching early on, helping others feel safe and confident in the water. She has since worked with swimmers of all ages through programs such as the Boys and Girls Club and San Francisco Recreation and Parks.
She is certified by the American Red Cross as a lifeguard and in CPR/AED, and is currently in the process of joining SF Rec and Park in an official role within their aquatics programs.
Bre is passionate about creating a positive, supportive environment where students can build confidence, develop skills, and enjoy their time in the water.
Miss Sandy
Miss Sandy teaches both group and private swim lessons at the Marin Jewish Community Center in San Rafael, where she has built a strong client base and many returning families.
A lifelong swimmer, she competed from the age of 5 through college at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. Her deep experience in the water translates into confident, effective instruction for swimmers of all levels.
Sandy enjoys working closely with children and takes pride in watching their skills and confidence grow with each lesson.
Outside of teaching, she lives in Bel Marin Keys and is a mother of two. She also works as a real estate appraiser and office assistant at Good Shepherd Lutheran School.
